When I speak about your ENVIRONMENT, I am talking about everything that surrounds you and makes up your reality. Specifically, the types of things that exist in your life that you have the power to change. –Your home, your job, your community, your thought life, your relationships, and the ways you interact and connect with the natural world.
In other words: My life is made up of the people I surround myself with, the things I buy, the food I consume, the thoughts that I allow to live on and flourish, and the actions I take or do not take–all of these choices create the environment in which I live. The important part to catch is that they are MY choices, so I have the power to change them at any time.
This month we will give rise to your inner activist. Not the world’s definition of the word “activist”, but your own deep-rooted way to show up in the world, and to stand for what you believe in. What if your life’s song sounded more like your soul’s purpose and less like your fears? What if you could banish the word “should” from your vocabulary, and replace it with “I want to.” What if you knew exactly what to do next? What if you could live with confidence that you are indeed on the right path?
To begin a process like this one must grant one’s self the patience to CREATE A DREAM.
First Assignment: Take a seat in your SOUL STATION with a journal or a recording device. Sometimes I find it helpful to record my own voice so I may literally “talk it out” while I find my footing. Eventually I start to make sense of it, and the words start flowing, but give yourself space to fumble a little as you navigate a new landscape within. Play it back and listen to yourself as though you’re seated in front of a wise teacher. For me, there is often a moment of “Wow, where did that come from?”
Ask yourself: What is romancing me right now (soulfully speaking)?
(To trigger more thoughts on the subject.)
-What about the world is begging for more of your attention?
-What questions do you have about Your Earth, Your People, or Your Legacy?
-How do you feel you are connected to your dreams, visions, and imagination?
-What most terrifies you that simultaneously draws you near?
** Added challenge: Before embarking on this assignment take a walk early in the morning (before sunrise) or at night. Notice how the darkness affects you. As always, use your own discernment, but if you live in a safe place a night walk can be just the thing to spark your inner muse.
Remember this week is all about granting yourself the gift of patience, and awakening the power you hold to wield real change in this world. Carve out time in your week to look up at the stars, to sip, to be held, and to dream.
